1) $$x^2>X........x^2-x>0......x(x-1)>0$$
So two cases
1) X>0, x-1>0 or X>1
Example let X=2, 2*1>0 but let X=1/2, then 1/2(1/2-1)=1/2*(-1/2)=-1/4 NOT >0 so X cannot be 1/2 or anything<1
2) X<0, x-1<0 or X<1
if x<0, X can never be >0
In either case, x is not between 0 and 1
Sufficient

2) $$x^3<0......X<0$$
Take X^3 as -8, so X=-2
Ans is NO
Sufficient

bettatantalo, I have written one example of X as 1/2.. pick up any value between 0 and 1 say 9/10...9/10(9/10-1)=9/10*-1/10=-9/100 again <0, it will not satisfy x^2>x

Thanks for the explanation!

Would it be possible to see it explained with real numbers instead of x? I don't understand for example how x couldn't be a negative number and then the statements wouldn't be suff.

Thank you!
