If y = x + |x|, then is y=0 for all x<=0 ??

Hi,

X will be also be negative.If x = -2 then |x| = -2 and x + |x| = -2 + (-2) = -4?? Please explain me.

|-2| = 2, so if x=-2, then y = x + |x| = -2 + 2 = 0.
