Is x < y ?

(1) z + 1 < y
(2) z > x

1) No Relation with x; Insufficient
2) No relation with y; insufficient

Togather
1) z+1<y
z+1-y<0
z-y<-1 [substracting from both side]
y-z>1 [Changing sign]

2) Says z>x

As y-z> 1 and z>x so surely y>x.
