Is z<0 ?

State 1 : -z < z = 2z > 0 ...so z > 0...suff

State 2: z3 < z2 ===> z < 1...insuff

120% agree with the above answer...
The stem can be summarized in "is z<0" then statement 2 does not bring anything since z could be lower than 1
