(A) but nevertheless
"Bach’s The Musical Offering....but nevertheless",lacks main verb. a run on sentence

(B) would instead be considered
not so sure about this ,so holding on to this one.

(C) but rather
same as A

(D) and is nevertheless
nothing parallel to "and is nevertheless"
again same as A

(E) is nevertheless
seems fine

in B "would instead be considered", instead of what exactly?

This is a SC Butler Question




OFFICIAL EXPLANATION



The correct answer is (E).

The original version is not a complete sentence. Choice (E) corrects the problem by replacing but with is. Choice (B) also fixes the problem, but its use of the subjunctive mood (would instead) makes no sense in context.
