From Monday to Friday- 5 days.
Each day he buys 4 items. total of 20 items in 5 days. So 1000 items in 20*50 days = 5*50 = 250 days.
Of the remaining 8 items, he'll buy 4 on Monday and 4 on Tuesday.

B is the answer.
