Janice types at a constant rate and types 15 pages of text per hour. How long would it take Janice and Dontrelle to complete a job of 450 pages if they were working together?

(1) Dontrelle takes 1.5 times as long to produce the same number of pages as it takes the two of them working together to finish the 450 pages.
(2) Dontrelle can type at a rate twice as fast Janice.

(1) Dontrelle takes 1.5 times as long to produce the same number of pages as it takes the two of them working together to finish the 450 pages.
Let s be the rate of Dontrelle's work
450/s = 3/2 * 450/(s+15)
Solving for x we can find the rate of Dontrelle's work and using that information, time taken to complete the job
Hence sufficient.

(2) Dontrelle can type at a rate twice as fast Janice.
This is clearly enough. Because we now know Dontrelle can type 30 pages an hour(twice the rate of Janice)
Together, we can ascertain how much time it would take the two of them to complete the job
Hence sufficient.(Option D)

Good sum,
J=15
To find x

(J+d)x=450
1. (J+D)x= 450 =D(1.5)x,
so Dx = 300
substituting Dx
Jx=150, so x= 10 Sufficient.

2. D=30
45x=450, x=10. Sufficient.

D. Each statement individually sufficient.

stat 1 : relation of dontrelle's rate is given with respect to the total rate..suff

stat 2 : Dontrelle can type at a rate twice as fast Janice,, and the stem says about janice rate,,
hence suff,
