Hello

First of all, I would like to appreciate the intiative that is taken by the COE to run this show.
My question :
I am an international student and currently working very hard in my job front. I prepared earlier for about 2 months for GMAT and left it half way thru.
Currently I would like to take GMAT after 8 months down the line.
I cant spend more than one hour a day or may be less than that and I would like to prepare at a slow pace. I am weak in RC and in general Verbal. I am aiming at a score not less than 750. Could you kind of give me a breif roadmap of how to go about and acheive the target.
Appreciate your response.

First of all, make sure you can make 3+ hours for studies at least on weekends. Secondly, read 'Elements of Style' by Strunk and White; it is must. Third, read how to read better and faster by norman lewis.


After all these, you're ready to start your prep. Believe me, this is the best advice i can give to anyone.

Invest in improving verbal. Doing well in this section will help to boost your overall score. Do not neglect quantitative section. However, since you are weak in RC and verbal in general, you will need to spend significant time in these subjects. Verbal ability will develop over time.

Read as much as you can.
Any serious reading will help, but try to include articles that analyze issues in depth.

The subject matter is of less importance, it is the reading and thinking abilities that you need to develop. Later on, you can focus on specific areas.

You can read at any time, anywhere, even if you have just one hour a day.

Eight months is a long period of time that you have available. That is a plus in your side.

Try to maintain consistent learning every day. Speed up and become focused when nearing exam date (e.g., four months in.)

Hi losiledlighting,

Since you put in some prior study time, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on those prior studies and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long ago did you study? How many hours did you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) When was the last time you took a practice CAT/mock and how have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Slowly read and exhaust all Manhattan resources and then go on doing pack1 and pack2 tests.

Hi losiledlighting

Welcome to GMAT club!

I would suggest you to first give an official GMAT mock exam and understand your current position as to where you stand from your dream score and then work accordingly towards it.

For Quant, I would suggest you go thru Manhattan Quant guides and couple them with GMAT club tests.

For verbal, I would suggest you enroll for egmat.
