It should be all triangles are similar to one another. Kaplan claims only triangle ABD and CEB are similar due to right triangles.

E is where the rt. triangles meet, and it is drawn to scale.

Does it specifically say only? That is odd, if the outer shape is a rectangle, the "bigger" triangle below the diagonal is half of the rect., and the other two are half of that, and equal to each other. Thus, each of the two smaller tri's are similar to the larger.

Who knows - write Kaplan and tell them you want a "Free 10 point" voucher for the GMAT on test day
