Hey,

My latest GMAT Score is 710 Q48 V39 and I've been planning to apply to the Top B-schools in the US. The main concern for me right now is to what kind of Letters of Recommendation I can get and should get given my background*. I know getting a recommendation letter from my father will not be valuable to the Adcoms.

So what should be my approach to getting LoRs and from where one can get the recommendation letters in a condition like mine?

Is it fine to get a LoR from one of your faculties, since it's been a year I graduated?

*My Background:
I graduated my Bachelors in Biotech in 2017 with a 7.8 CGPA, since then I am working at my father's firm as a Business Analyst for more than a year now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you and have a good day!

Hello akash2601

First things first- define 'top B schools'. With just 1 year of work ex, it will be quite difficult to get an admission into the real top B schools.
Coming to LORs, they should come from someone senior who can comment on your work, contribution and working style. Since you are working for your father's company, a client (if you have worked with one) might be a good option. Otherwise, who do you report to? If you do not report to your father then you could take a reco from your supervisor. Or if there is a board of directors in the the company (someone who is not family) you could approach them. LOR from faculty members will not carry much weight and ideally must be professional in nature.
However, the bigger problem is the 1 year of experience. Highly unlikely at 'top' US B schools.

Hi akash2601,

Your work experience is on the lower side considering the fact that your are targetting the top business schools.
