Hey guys,
I was wondering, does knowing foreign languages increase your chances of getting admitted to top B-schools ? I know that INSEAD has very strict language policy, but apart from INSEAD, do you think that knowing languages will really increase ones chances ?
For example, I am fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, German, and English. How much of an advantage can that be ?

Hi Ivan,

It's always an advantage! It isn't a golden ticket by any means but it's a diversity that a lot of domestic candidates to American schools in particular lack. It helps add a little color to your application and something to have it stand out. It would cause the person reading the application to go "hmm, that's cool!" and that is a valuable reaction.

However, like I mentioned, it isn't going to be your trump card by any means. But include it - it's interesting!

It's nice, but other than European schools and specific global programs, schools only really care if you have WORKED in those languages and/or countries. THEN it really means something.
