Note that if the length of the sides of the rectangle are 8.5 cm and 6.5 cm, then their measurements to nearest centimeter will be 9 cm and 7 cm respectively. But if their actual measurements are just less than 8.5 cm and 6.5 cm (may be 8.49999... cm and 6.499999.. cm), then their measurements to nearest centimeter will be 8 cm and 6 cm respectively.

Thus, the largest possible value of actual area of rectangle is some value just less than (8.5)*(6.5) sq. cm = 55.25 sq. cm

Hence, the correct option is the largest one which is less than this value.
