Hi Guys

I just wanna ask that what happens if you have already selected an answer for the last question in a section but you don't get a chance to hit 'Next' and confirm your answer. Will this be considered as an unfinished section and you will be penalized for not finishing the section or selecting an answer is good enough for not being penalized.

i believe as long as you mark an option in the last question, the test records the marked answer as confirmed automatically if the timer runs out. So no, the test will not record the last question as un-attempted even if you don't confirm, as long as you mark a choice before the timer hits 0:00.

Sounds like someone ran out of time hitting confirm on the last question on the real test.

That's correct, as long as you pick an answer, you do not need to click confirm before the time runs out. The computer will confirm that option automatically when the time runs out (that's why it is recommended to pick an answer on the last question - any answer right away just in case the time gets away from you).

The same applies to the AWA - it will count your essay if the time runs out before you have finished typing.

This is very true!

Hi BB,
Has this been officially confirmed from the folks at GMAC?
If this is the case, the anxiety will get reduced and we can focus clearly on getting the last question right without having to worry about clicking on 'Next' and 'Confirm'

GMATPrep follows the same routine as mentioned by bb. In GMATPrep, even if you just select the answer and don't do a confirm it will register it as answered questions.

In one of my GMATPrep tests I did the same and while the analysis showed I ran out of time but the number of questions answered were 100%.

Cheers...
