yes, it changes the meaning, but that only is right. ..websites not only complete the museums, they also act as a separate stand-alone resource. You can see what you can't see in the museums

(D) only as a complement to their museum galleries, but also as a stand-alone art resource, exhibiting exclusive pieces that cannot be viewed
