E. "fewer" is req to modify/quantify countnoun "ways". "are" is correct verb for plural "fewer ways".
A is missing "it" that makes the sentence unclear and vague.
E should correct.

IMO "A". In "E" it refers to inefficiencies?

yes I think 'it' refers to efficiencies in the system because of 'find efficiencies in the system' earlier in the sentence.

IMO E

Ways is a plural countable noun that requires:
So A,C, E remain.
Among them I pick E because it has the correct idion TO LOOK FOR.

Thanks for the attempt everyone...
OA:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
A

"Fewer" is correct. So B and D gone.
"Ways" is plural, so "there are" is correct. C is gone.
E is incorrect because singular pronoun "it" refers to plural noun "efficiencies"

If E were "[...]stop looking for them", which would be better, A or E??
Thanks,

For me :
B-> Less should only be used for comparison, so wrong here.
C-> 'is' is wrong
D-> wrong use of less
E-> 'it' referring to efficiencies

I chose A because -
1. I did not find any problem in A
2. 'fewer' should be used instead of 'lesser' because 'ways' can counted - way 1, way 2, way 3 etc.
3. 'there are' should be used instead of 'there is' because 'ways' is plural.
4. 'looking for it' -> here 'it' is ambiguous. Ideally 'it' should refer to 'ways'.
