Letter of Intent after interviewing, before decision? [#permalink]

Is it common for MBA program applicants who went through the interview to send in letters of intent (or interest) to the program before the offer comes out? If an applicant is strongly committed to the program, and the interview was just conducted, would a letter of intent stating why and how the applicant is committed to the program hurt the chance of getting an offer? Have you heard of anyone who did it?

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Most schools do not want one additional piece of paper to read or consider. Some may view it negatively.

If a school is your number one choice, that should have been clear from your entire application, not to mention the interview. It is perfectly appropriate after the interview to send a Thank You to your interview and reiterate your strong interest in the program. And yes you can then state it's your first choice, if that is the case.

Best,
Linda
