I'm definitely more comfortable w/ the US convention, but not sure if it'll read less professionally to the UK adcoms.

I doubt it will make any difference whatsoever. LBS gets a lot of US applicants every year so the adcoms will be used to it. By the way, I am a Brit and I intend to spell everything the British way (or should I say correctly) on all my apps!

No, they don't care. Just use US convention.

Part of me wishes I was applying here this year, but after my horrible interview experience last year, I don't want to try again. But it's a great school and good luck to all

I wrote about it in last year's "Calling all applicants" thread. Search for posts by me in that thread and you'll find it.

and to be fair, this year, I also decided that LBS wasn't the best school for my prof'l goals.

Just as a litmus test - how much are my fellow applicants looking to write on the mini-essays? I could talk about my academic performance or hobbies almost indefinitely, so I'm wondering how many words you guys have put into these...

Personally, I've been writing about 300-400 for a lot of them, but I might trim it down some.

Pretty much same length here, although a couple of those might be slightly longer.

Hi,

Has anyone gotten their CV reviewed by the adcom at LBS? How does this informal feedback affect the chances of an interview/admit? Does a positive feedback indicate better chances of an admit and vice versa?

Thank you!

I had mine reviewed, and was denied after being granted an interview. I don't really think it has much effect, but it may help you more as you write your application.

Thanks for the quick reply ward2012. I just read your interview experience in last year's thread. Sorry to hear that. It sounds dreadful. I am applying from New York too and am very nervous about their admissions process now.

Thank you again for the quick reply.

Yes, it doesn't actually offer any comments at all other than "you are suitable for the full time MBA". I think it's a way of providing advice as to which program you are best suited for. So if you have 10+ years experience, I guess it would suggest an EMBA or Sloan Masters.

Thanks for the sentiments. My interview experience turned me off from applying again this year. If I get into any of the schools where I'm applying this year, I may still try to do an exchange though.

No one here rushing to get R1 apps in?

My manager still hasn't put his rec letter in, so I'll be on the edge of my seat until tomorrow 17:00 GMT.

Submitted in R1...final recommendation slipped in yesterday, was getting seriously concerned and had to hold myself back from clicking the 'remind your recommender' link haha

Anyone a little surprised that LBS didn't ask about any extracurricular info?

Just grades, gmat, work ex, and recommendations. I'm a little paranoid that I've accidentally skipped an entire section of the application.
