[A] m= 2K+1
[B] m is a multiple of 3

HI,
Here is the reason

lets see the statements--

[A] m= 2K+1
we do not know if k is an integer...
If k is an integer.. M is ODD
If k is a fraction say 1/2.. m is EVEN
Insuff

[B] m is a multiple of 3
m can be 3 or 6..
Insuff

Combined..
if k=1, m = 3, ODD
if k = 5/2, m=6, EVEN different answers
Insuff
E

Did not quite understand this
1 says---m=2k+1...if k=1/2 then m=2,which is even...in all other cases m is odd==so insufficient
2 says m=3,6,9,12,15,18,21 and so on which is a mix of even odd so insufficient

but combining them we have m=9,15,21 and so on( as we will find the common vales of m between 1 and 2)
so m is always odd

so why is the answer E??

Here is my solution to this one ->

WE need to see if M is even or odd.
m is a positive integer.

Statement 1->
m=2k+1
k=1 => m=3 => Odd
k=1/2=> =2 => Even
Hence not sufficient

Statement 2->
m=3 => odd
m=6 => Even
Hence not sufficient

Combing the two statements =>
k=1=> m=3 => Odd
k=5/2 => m=6 => Even

Hence not sufficient

Hence E.
