Median of a single element set; S = {4} is 4 ; the same as the element in the set and Range will be 0

For a set S = { 4,4,4,4}; Median will be 4 and range = 0

I am not sure about the above. Is it how it is supposed to be for these sets?

That's correct.

The median of a set with odd # of terms is just a middle term (when ordered in ascending/descending order).

The median of a set with even # of terms is the average of two middle terms (when ordered in ascending/descending order).

The range of a set is the difference between the largest and smallest terms of a set.

So, according to above the median of a set with all identical numbers is that number itself (no matter whether a set contains odd or even # of elements): median of {4} and {4, 4, 4, 4} is 4;

The range of a set with all identical numbers is 0.
