(E)U.S. singer, actress and businesswoman Madonna, widely known as the queen of pop, has both created a trend that was

The construct

U.S. singer, actress and businesswoman Madonna, is not correct as it does not modify Madonna: out B C E.

D is not parallel:
"(D)Madonna, who is a U.S. singer, actress and businesswoman widely known as the queen of pop, created both a music trend that was liberal and innovative".

OA is B -

Here's the OE-

Idiom: Both X and Y, where X and Y should be listed in a parallel way.

In this sentence, yet indicates a contrast between the clause it introduces and the previous one. Both clauses should be listed in a parallel way.

(A) Madonna has created (present perfect)…. ,yet she remained (past simple) is not a parallel construction.

(B) Correct. Both liberal and innovative, and created..., yet she remained are parallel constructions.

(C) Sentence fragment: the first main clause does not have a main verb.

(D) Both a music trend that was liberal and innovative is a wrong parallel construction. The right parallelism is a music trend that was both liberal and innovative.

(E) Madonna has created (present perfect)…. ,yet she remained (past simple) is not a parallel construction.

Both created a trend that was liberal and innovativeis a wrong parallel construction. The right parallelism is a music trend that was both liberal and innovative.

I agree with Zarrolou regarding :"businesswoman Madonna" and thus B, D, and E are out. But both A and D have obvious mistakes (I chose D).

A is wrong because two noun modifiers have to be next to Madonna, but they are in following order: Madonna, noun modifier, noun modifier, verb + rest of sentence.

D is wrong because of the improper use of Both + And because they need to refer to innovative and liberal.

A)Madonna, a U.S. singer, actress and businesswoman, widely known as the queen of pop, has created a music trend that was both -
( has does not fit with the setence)
(B)U.S. singer, actress and businesswoman Madonna, widely known as the queen of pop, created a music trend that was both
Correct

(C)U.S. singer, actress and businesswoman Madonna, widely known as the queen of pop, who created a music trend that was
(wrong place of who)
(D)Madonna, who is a U.S. singer, actress and businesswoman widely known as the queen of pop, created both a music trend that was
Was and Created are not parallel
(E)U.S. singer, actress and businesswoman Madonna, widely known as the queen of pop, has both created a trend that was
Wrong tense

I am going with B..
