I'm unsure. :roll:
C)'s "dotting" I found was suspect. I was torn between D and E.
Doesn't "Which" in (D) refer to "monasteries?

OFFICIAL ANSWER IS?
Reasoning would be helpful.

does 'them' in E refers correctly? We know what the author is trying to say, but sentence doesn't say the same.

them - mountains/monasteries.. :?: :?:
