Marshall bought a set of encyclopedias on the installment plan. How much money does he still owe on the encyclopedias?

(1) He has already paid $384.

(2) He still owes 12 monthly payments of $36 dollars each.

To know how much Marshall owes we need to calculate the total amount minus how much he has paid.
We'll look for answers that give us this information, a Logical approach.

(1) gives only the sum so far without the total.
Insufficient.

(2) directly answers the question: he owes 12*36 dollars (we won't calculate this!)
Sufficient.

(B) is our answer.
