Solution -

1+2+3, 2Pencil+2Note+2Eraser=270 --> 1Pencil+1Note+1Eraser=135

3Pencil+3Note+3Eraser=405 cents . ANS D

Algebraic solution:

(p+n)+(e+n)+(p+e) = 80 + 120 + 70
2p+2n+2e = 270
2(p+n+e)=270
(p+n+e) = 135

3(p+n+e) = 405

p+n= 0.8
n+e=1.2
P+e=0.7

2p+2n+2e =2.7
hence p+n+e = 1.35

so 3p+3n+3e = 4.05\$ i.e. 405 cents

Let pencil=x, notebook=y & eraser =z;
we have x+y=80
y+z=120
x+z=70
adding above 3 equations we get 2(x+y+z)=270 => 3(x+y+z) =405
