You can see the rankings on FT. Imperial is top school in the UK. Having said that, I think you should explore a Masters degree from a top tier school in the US if you can. But, I dont agree that Tier 2 schools in the US are better than for Tier 1 schools in the UK even for job placement. If you are planning to do an MBA in the future, this international experience will help you.
From this year, the work visa rules have changed in the UK. You might want to check that before you take the plunge. Good luck!

Hi guys,
I am graduating from UIUC undergrad in May this year in actuarial science and just received an offer from Imperial College in London for Masters in FE and RM.
My original plan was to get a job in a insurance or consulting firm. But the job search was tough and I couldn't really get any interviews in any actuarial positions. (especially because I don't have prior actuarial internships) So I chose to switch field to Finance/ Financial Engineering. But most of the tier-1 schools' deadlines were already up and I didn't have GRE/GMAT scores to submit. Which is why I applied to some non-U.S. schools. I just reserved a spot for the GMAT and was going to start applying for MFE programs (and some MSF) in UIUC, Boston, Columbia, etc.
My question is: should I choose Imperial College over some of the schools in the U.S.? If so, what types of U.S. schools are equivalent of Imperial? I hear that job placement in US tier-2 schools are still easier than UK tier-1 schools. Is this true?
Thanks in advance!
