Hey Everyone

I have just started to consider MiM as a future prospect. I’ve a few queries that I would like you all to address. All your comments and thoughts would be highly appreciated.

Let me start with my background. I’m a CSE graduate from one of the top 10 pvt Engineering colleges from India. I’ve been working with Deloitte USI in their Advisory Practice since June 2018 (Campus placement, graduated in 2018). I am in a direct client facing role and am also looking at a fist year promotion to a consultant. I received the highest possible employee rating in the year end performance evaluation. I have a very rich co curricular experience including international accolades, internships, training and teaching experience as well as social service experience.
10th Standard- 10 CGPA
12th Standard- 90%
Undergrad- 72%
Expected GMAT Score- 730

I These are the queries that I have:
1. What is better in terms of ROI (not just monetary), MBA from ISB vs MiM from HEC Paris?
2. What are the job prospects for a non French speaking Indian in France post the degree? (I’ll have two years of consulting work ex at the start of the program)
3. How easy/ difficult it is to get a work visa in the EU post MiM?
4. What are the scholarships available? (Tuition Fee and Grants)

Looking forward to some insights. Thanks in advance.

Hi mittalbwoy

In general, with Deloitte experience under your belt, and ~1 year of experience already, you are moving towards the MBA side than the MiM side. Before even considering the MiM, evaluate the MiM v/s the MBA. This article on the MiM v/s the MBA can help you to make a better informed decision. You may also want to go through this post on life at ISB or this one on life at HEC Paris

On your other questions:
- If you can manage to stay and work in Europe, the ROI (quantitatively speaking) from the HEC Paris MiM will be higher.
- The prospects are there, but language constraints could be present in certain roles. You should be flexible and open to all kinds of roles, including those with smaller firms. The chances of having to return to India are not nil, though, but even if you do, a good role (think career advancement) within a consulting firm should happen.
- For fees and financing, look up the relevant section on this link at the HEC website.
