Background and nationality - Complete bachelors in Accounting & Finance with CGPA 7.23 (India). I also cleared CFA L2.
Interested in MscFin.
GMAT- will appear in Oct 2021, confident enough to score somewhere between 680-710. On a very lucky side, 730/740 can be achieved.
Work experience and leadership- I am currently employed with 6 months experience and will complete a whole year. I am in position called Subject Expert - finance.
Post Master goals- Really interested in asset and portfolio management.

From all the colleges I looked in EU, my undergrad scores makes me a weak profile. However, I finally came across SSE sweden and really loved it. However, i am not able get hand on first hand experience over there. Is MFin any good there? They have decent curriculum spammed over 2 years and i would love to hear any more regarding the same.

Can you suggest any more colleges with my profile in Msc Fin course? Thank you.

I am hoping to apply for the top European MSF programs.
Background and nationality: Nordic citizenship but African decent.
Undergrad Information: 3.4 GPA from top university in my country studying international business.
GMAT/GRE: Yet to be taken but expected ~700-720.
Work experience and leadership: 4 month internship in accounting at a large oil & gas company. Completed military conscription and gained some leadership experience there.
Community and others: Helped found a run a non-profit in high-school that ran youth centers and other services for youth in immigrant communities.
Post Master goals: IB or other high finance roles, preferably in London.

I understand that the best way to a job in London is a school nearby but I’m not sure about that anymore since the UK government isn’t giving loans for tuition to EU students; should I apply anyway and get private loans?

Thanks in advance

MS Finance Profile Evaluations [Master Thread]: Post all Profiles Here [#permalink]
Hi there,

would anybody kindly evaluate my profile?

Nationality:
Chinese (Male)

Academic Background:
BSc in Business Administration (major: banking and finance) in Germany (one of the target schools)

GPA:
1.9 with 1 being best and 5 being worst

GMAT:
730 (Q51 V36)

Internships:
Valuation at Moody's
Investment Management at Deloitte
Investment Banking at HSBC
Investment Banking at Deutsche (incoming)
And I'm currently interviewing at another two BBs, so probably another incoming IB internship could be added.

Career Plan:
Investment Banking (M&A)

Now I am planning to get started with my applications and I am aiming for LBS (Financial Analysis), Imperial (Finance and Accounting), and LSE (Accounting and Finance), but I am not sure if my targets are set too high, since my GPA is not impressive enough, and I am not sure if the incoming internships would help at all. Actually, Oxford (Financial Economics) is also a dream program but I think Oxford attaches great importance to GPA so I don't think I will have a chance there.

Thanks a lot!

Hi, hope someone would notice this.

Would any of you help me to assess my chance to be accepted for MS Finance/MS Financial Analytics program at these schools (Stanford, Olin, Fuqua, McCombs, Fisher, and NUS (Singapore))?

My profile is as follows:
Nationality: Indonesian
Undergrad GPA: 3.3/4 (below 3 in the first year, managed to increase gradually above 3 and got above 3.5 in the last 3 semesters). My undergraduate school is one of the top 3 public universities in the country, and I majored in Industrial Engineering (also enrolled in some courses like Financial Modeling, Operations Research, and Economics)
GRE score: 328 (Q 168, V 160) – per ETS calculation equals to 730 in GMAT (Q 50, V 36)
GMAT highest score: 620 (Q 46, V 30; took this in December and gave one more shot in January – got 580 and sizeable decrease in verbal score to 23). About GMAT, should I try it again? I also had a difficulty in learning verbal section in both GMAT and GRE, yet the outcome in the second trial for both exam was pretty different.
Work experience: 1.5 years as FP&A and Corporate Strategy Analyst in a unicorn
Leadership: Led a team of 7 students in the think-tank department of the students' union for 1 year
Post-Master goals: to work at PE/VC to support the growth of startups in its portfolio as their investor or join the country's newly-minted SWF, establish a local PE (the market's still a blue ocean in Indonesia for local players) or VC
Others: proficient at using R, Py, and SQL; worked as a teaching assistant in some data science classes in the university

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I am looking to apply to Master's in Finance and/ or Economics in LSE / UCL / Imperial.

I am 26F, from Lebanon.

Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate from the American University of Beirut (prestigious university in the middle east- not sure if it's known elsewhere). I graduated with Honor's with a minor in Mathematics (GPA: 3.4).

GMAT: 720 (Q49, V38)

Work experience: around 3-4 years of engineering experience in Supply Chain and Datacenters. Haven't taken any leadership role, mostly analyst and project management roles. I have been working in Dubai for the past 3 years so I have been exposed to a multinational work environment. I speak Arabic and French.

Looking for a career change into consulting or asset management.

I am also considering applying for an MBA in LBS. But given the high cost (around 100K), I would rather go for a master's degree.

Appreciate the help.

Hi everyone; I'm still doing my undergrad but plan to apply for an MSc Finance after graduation, and thus would like some pointers on what to work on. :)

Nationality:
21M from Canada; ethnically Italian so I could apply for an Italian passport if a european school catches my interest.

Academic Background:
3.0 GPA (currently) in a niche industry specific BSc at the University of British Columbia (#37 world, #2 in Canada from times rankings). GPA isn't stellar, but I was able to pull up my grades from straight Cs to straight As. (Note my school does not officially calculate GPA, so this is just a rough calculation based on a standard US GPA calculation). Graduating April 2023.

GMAT:
I have not yet taken the GMAT; excpecting high 600s - low 700s based on my prep. I have lots of time before I plan to apply, so this can be raised.

Work Experience:
Internship as a financial analyst at a mid-sized industrial company in my industry. It was this job actually that piqued my interest in pursuing an MSc in Finance. Possibly another internship in the coming year.

Leadership:
Currently treasurer for a recreation club. Was president for a year when our current active president was at an internship.

Post-Master Goals:
Investment banking in either Japan or China, depending on the school I attend.

I am looking to apply for programs in Asia, specifically Japan or China (Waseda MSc Finance or Peking MSc Finance). Likely will apply to others, but these two are my main targets. The admissions competitiveness of these programs isn't available based on what I can find, so I don't really know where I stand.

Thanks for any advice!
