hello everyone.
i was heavy in this forum last year when i was taking my gmat, but kinda got away from it after i finished. a little background about myself
-undergrad in BBA marketing
-in an MSFin program at a not ranked school (north texas)
-working as a sales consulatant for a major wireless carrier making so so money. enough to pay my bills.
-wanted to get MSFin first to break into the field b/c undergrad was in marketing, then eventually apply for a nice MBA program after graduating and working a few years.

i went thru my first semester and did great, but now i'm trying to make the switch over to a financial analyst role to get my foot in the door.
its really tough because most of the jobs require experience, and i'm not coming from a well known school. Its pretty big, about 40k, but doesnt have the ranking like other schools here in texas (UT Austin, Tx A&M).
I have even tried applying for the finance internship that my company offers, but i got the bad news last week that employees arent eligible for internships from a recruiter. I know this is a complete lie b/c i personally know people that have made the switch, but meh... cant do much about it
i ended up getting a meeting with the VP of finance this week. I simply sent an email to different finance people in the company and let them know what i was trying to do, along with my stellar sales to show that i'm a dedicated worker, even though that has nothing to do with the job description.
how should i approach the meeting? its only 30 min, but i'm hoping i can use this as a time to let him know my plan, and how to go about it.
i'm sure he has enough pull for the internship program as well. i dont know if i should go in with a "trying to get a job or internship" idea and treat it like an interview, or to go in just to ask him how to make the transition.
i'm also asking how is it working as an analyst full time, and going to school full time? all of my classes are at night, or online.
