I first thought about GMAT seriously almost 1 and a half year back. got hold of few books (Princeton, Kaplan & ETS), prepared for 2 months and appeared for GMAT. Was shocked to see the accuracy of GMAT Peps in my case. 660 in first Prep, same in second and yet another 660 in GMAT Final. To hell with the prep accuracy, my score was not good.
Down but not not out, I moved on to persue some better things in life until this January when I said to myself, man its enough now..Get it before you forget that there is something called GMAT
Prepared for 1 and half month this time and here I am..740 (Quant - 50, Verbal - 40).
AWA score is still awaited but it shouldn't be too bad considering my 5.5 last time.
Quant was pretty easy. Infact I could have got another 10-20 in overall score, had I not wasted a lot of time in my first 10 questions. These questions are important for your score but they are not necessarily tough. So just get the answers and get yourself going.
Verbal was good. In fact it is the verbal section which made me through this time and all this happened because of some good reading that I did on SC in the posts on this forum. I guess its SC which effects the score most. Edioms hold the key to success. They are very fond of putting Edioms directly or indirectly in almost every SC question. RC is something where you don't have a lot of scope of improvement and analytical is something that you start getting correct after little practice. Its SC which needs a lots and lots of sweating out.
For some serious preparation, I would say, Princeton is good to start with. Move on to Kaplan then and then go through each and every question of ETS. Once all these are done or while in all this process of preparation, go through the posts on this forum. I would say this forum can raise your score anywhere between 40-60 points.
