Although Napoleon's army entered Russia with far more supplies than they had in their previous campaigns, it had provisions for only twenty-four days.
(A) they had in their previous campaigns
(C) they had for any previous campaign
(D) in their previous campaigns
(E) in any other campaign

Now to make the water more muddier, what if we change the "THAN" word to "AS", what effect it will have on the sentence.

I will post the OA and OC for this question.

The idiom is "more...than...". Hence, "more...as..." is undiomatic. Perhaps, "as much...as..." would be good but I don't believe that altering the question as suggested is warranted.

I would like to choose B, but I am not sure if "it had had" is grammatically correct. In case it had had is wrong, then E is the answer. Gosh!! Even E is wrong.

B for now.

only b and e have the correct preposition for the noun napelon`s army which is singular. therefore a,c and d can`t be the answer. e is not complete
