I'm a senior accounting major and have been going through on-campus recruiting as an undergrad. I hope to get a big 4 internship (that leads to a full time offer) before I graduate from undergrad. I'm hoping for this timeline: take gmat summer/fall 2012, get an internship offer fall 2012, graduate early (in 3 1/2 yrs) fall 2012, intern spring 2013 busy season, start grad school summer 2013 through fall 2013, lighter schedule spring 2014 while sitting for CPA, pass CPA exam before starting full time at big 4 firm in Fall 2014. Plans will change if things don't work as plan of course. With that in mind, I'm looking for a Macc program that is structured so you can sit for sections of the CPA before you graduate from the MAcc program. But I know networking and on-campus recruiting with alumni networks is how I plan to get to a big 4, and I want a good program, maybe one that uses the Becker review course and 1st CPA pass rates are high that will actually help me pass the CPA. I don't want a name brand, competitive "top" program. I would like to stay in the south too since I would like to start at the Atlanta offices. I would appreciate any info or advice on the programs at UGA, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida or any other school in the South/near the South. Also, please feel free to comment on my future plans if you have any advice. Thanks.
