Linda: (I have posted the same under "My MBA Game Plan"
This post may be bit out of scope! but need some help here!

My GMAT is 710 (Q50, V36) AWA 4
But my TOEFL is 257

Will this TOEFL score hamper my chances to schools like Harvard??
Though the HBS says I need minimum score of 253, but my question is shall I re-take TOEFL or it is not required in the current situation(As I already cross the minimum barrier for HBS (Though just border line case))

What is your verbal percentile on the GMAT?

Hi,

Northwestern, another ultraelite, reports the following:

"We do not have a minimum score requirement, though the average is 280 for the computerized test. We review various indicators of English ability, such as the GMAT scores, essays and interview performance."

As mentioned before, it might be easier just to post a higher score on the test indicated by each school and clear this issue.

After all, if your true standing on English is meaningfully higher than your score it should be relatively easy to score higher.

That is a border-line TOEFL. If you believe you can raise it, then the safer way to go is to take it again and raise it. If you feel you did as well as you can, then write great essays, interview well, and ask your recommenders to comment positively on your communications. In other words, demonstrate English fluency in another way.

Good luck!
