Need your advise

Hello Paul,
Need your advice, would be great if you could help me out. Here's a brief background:
I'm looking at doing a 2nd MBA to gain access to more international opportunities. I already have an MBA from a top Indian B-school, and have 10 years of solid work experience with Johnson & Johnson Ltd. in Sales and Marketing, along with international experience in J&J USA. Because of my experience and background, I would like to do an MBA which gives due recognition to my track record and experience, so IMD and INSEAD are the only choices for me.
My problem is that my GMAT score is not that great. I scored a 640 (42 Quant, 36 Verbal, 6.0 AWA). Quant is especially low at a 60th percentile. This was a suprise because I consistently scored 680-710 during practise. I'm mulling whether to give the GMAT again. While my score is in the accepted range at IMD, Indian candidates do have high GMAT scores. I also have a non-conventional Indian background (I am a Science Graduate, and not an Engineer, and I work in Consumer Goods marketing rather than IT or Finance), but I still think my GMAT score will work to my disadvantage compared to other Indian cadndidates. I have a strong resume, will have good essays and good references as well. Will I be ok for IMD or should I give GMAT again? I m pretty confident I can improve my score by atleast 30 points. Do I give a 2nd chance with GMAT, or am I better off focusing on improving my essays to make the Feb 1 deadline? I dont want to be in a scenario where my app is not even looked at due to low GMAT scores. This concern is more for INSEAD than IMD where I believe a 70th percentile on both Quant and Verbal is a must.
Please advice. Thanks for your help.
