Hey guys,

I'm just starting to study for the GMAT. I took a diagnostic to judge the level I'm currently at. I got a 710 (Q-50, V-37) on the ETS Powerprep 1. I found that managing time wasn't too much of a problem. However, I made several mistakes on the verbal section that I shouldn't have.

I haven't really looked at any of the books on studying for the GMAT. I just purchased the official guide 10th edition and 11th edition from Amazon. In addition, I've got some old editions of Kaplan and Princeton review that I'm going to start looking at seriously.

Are there any other books that would help?

Dude, your wasting your time, if your scoring a 700+ on the practice, your ready. The objective is to get into B-school, not to waste time with this stupid gmat exam.

Dont forget the reason for the money scam, its the first lesson of B-school... Learn it!

Get Manhattan Review's Sentence Correction book if you missed a lot of Sentence Correction problems. I've been impressed with it and virtualy all reviews recommend it.

I would suggest you prepare for while to get comfortable with the test but spliff97 has a good point, don't get too caught up in this test. it's only one of several things schools take into consideration.

Good luck!

I agree that you don't need a whole lot of prep if you scored a 710 cold, but I would get the newest versions of whatever prep books you buy. The GMAT has gotten harder and if you use old materials you may still find yourself surprised despite the early 710.
