I feel that for someone like a GMAT tutor who does GMAT teaching professionally, this is a good discussion. At the same time, I’m not sure it really matters for the rest of us who are studying for the GMAT 😇 but I would say that you cannot really assume that the real test will be different or harder. That is a problem if you’re expecting your test experience to be different from your practice experience…. It may be different, but it doesn’t have to. I’ve seen an ESR that had only a couple of mistakes and errors and didn’t really have high-diff questions. At the same time, we don’t really know how difficulties measured and what this means and if that’s absolute difficulty or relative difficulty. Anyway, we have gotten reports from people that the test was easy yet they got penalized for making a handful of mistakes and others reporting back that the test was very hard and they made a bunch of mistakes but they got the very high score. There’s definitely variance in the test Experience or at least the perception but you really don’t need to worry about any of this. You don’t need to worry during the test about the difficulty in the questions, you want to keep your timing consistent. Do you want to answer every single question and give every single question the chance , and you want to answer as many questions as you can correctly. Following these steps, will usually give you a chance to maximize your score. The reality is more complicated than this but you don’t need to worry about all the complexities because we don’t control them and there’s not much we can do. All we need to do is not mess up our timing and answer the questions correctly 😎


Jim And prep uses official questions from past GMAT exams and it supposed to follow the exact same algorithm. The score you get on GMAT prep is the closest evaluation to the real GMAT. Again, GMAT refuses real questions from previous GMAT exams and the use the real GMAT algorithm. It does not get any more real than that.

Therefore, if you get a great score on the practice test, you are pretty much guaranteed to get a pretty close to the score on the test. Similarly, if you’re score stinks, don’t expected to go up on the real test.

You can take a look on them and decide. From my point, its ttp without a doubt

hi in which order should i use powerscore gmat books? it seems like sentence correction has more fundamentals should i start with those?

It doesn’t really matter a whole lot. My personal recommendation is always to start with something that is more natural to you and some thing you feel more confident in or perhaps something you are more interested in. For example, if you like puzzles and you’re right like critical reasoning, you can start there.

PS. Power score books came out from LSAT. They especially shine in critical reasoning. Sentence correction is not tested on the LSAT so it’s more of an add-on and not so much the core competency. Sentence correction is still a very solid product but the one that really shines and what they have Been known for is the critical reasoning one

Let me ask my question in another way, for who do you recommend the powerscore books?

For those who tried mgmat and it did not work for some reason and who may need more CR or RC help. I usually recommend the Manhattan books… it is basically the gold standard and only option.
PS. PowerScore does not have quant.

Hey, i now have some kind of structure, thought maybe to ask you for some advice.

I am currently working the 8 week plan from tha manhattan prep in gmat and at the same time the chapters from the 8 week plan in the OG. ( currently i plan to finish it in 6 weeks) then i would move on to my remaining not so good areas.

That’s good…. Hopefully the mgmat covers all your areas…. Why not cover it all during these 8 weeks?

Which mgmat edition? 7th?

Usually mgmat is about 12 weeks. They have an 8-week plan? Is that in Atlas? Or in the book.

my first score was 520 and i filled out an review and i am just about to start the books from the beginning. In quant i first do the problem sets and if i had anything wrong i read the chapter

verbal part is taking more time 😂

I finsihed the first week, and its nice to have an online tracker for both the og and the mprep

where is the 12 week plan and how much time do you spend per day?

👍 and they put some of the more advanced things online by the way… they took the chapters out of the book and put them as additional resources online. Don’t ask me how to find them because last time I looked at them was before the pandemic and I wouldn’t be able to remember but they slimmed the seventh edition by moving some of the more advanced and extra advanced chapters online. Did you find them?
