For Tackling RC : Active reading should be emphasized rather than passive reading
CR : Skimming through the question to see what type of question is and then identifying a possible solution while skimming through the paragraph is a good technique.
SC : For SC Manhattan foundation of verbal and Manhattan Sc is good. Drawing a grid A/B/C/D/E will help you eliminate options till you are left with one.

How is the review of 'GMAT Club Grammar Book - Free' for SC. I had referred MGMAT for SC, however I am not very comfortable with the book. Any suggestions?

Nice post.

I'll add one more key GMAT Verbal tip, which is that how you practice can make or break the results of your GMAT Verbal prep.

The GMAT Verbal practice approach that I've found works best is to focus on one topic at a time and emphasize accuracy first and speed second.

For example, if you want to get a high Verbal score, you should start off practicing each topic UNTIMED and and shoot for the following accuracies:

Easy - close to 100%

Medium - 90%+

Hard - 70%+

If you want to get a medium-high Verbal score, such as 70th percentile, you can shoot for the following accuracies:

Easy - 90%

Medium - 80%

Hard - 70%

What I've also seen is that, if a student's overall accuracy on practice questions in GMAT Verbal is under 70%, then anything can happen on the Verbal section test day, such as a surprisingly low score. The reason why is that, if you aren't getting 70% or more of your Verbal practice questions correct, then you don't have things under control. You're barely doing much more than eliminating the obviously incorrect choices and guessing between the remaining ones.

Once you are consistently achieving the above accuracies untimed in a topic, you can work on speeding up to test pace, and here's a key thing to understand. The same skills that support accuracy in GMAT Verbal support speed. So, by achieving those accuracies untimed, you'll also be learning to be fast.
