Hi all, I purchased GMAT Official 3-6 on 9th feb 19 and i never activated the access code; however, noe tha i want to access there is no option. Am i in trouble ? Do i need to rebuy ? That would be terrible on GMAC's part.

Hi ziki6368,

As Anishraina showed, you can reset those exams only once. That being said, retaking exams 3 through 6 won’t be that helpful, as you will see many repeated questions. Are you taking your GMAT soon? How is your studying coming along?

Hi RashmiT,

While the most realistic CATs available are the 6 from GMAC, retaking a CAT that you've already taken is NOT a realistic way to assess your skills. Seeing even a couple of 'repeat' questions can 'throw off' the Scoring Algorithm and impact your pacing, energy levels, fatigue, etc. (meaning that they would likely all appear to be better than they normally would be). Thankfully, the CATs from Kaplan, MGMAT and Veritas are all 'close enough' to the real thing that they will provide you with a relatively realistic score assessment (assuming that you use the CAT correctly).

In addition, each CAT is really a 'measuring device' - when used correctly, it will give you a realistic score and help define your strengths and weaknesses, but it will NOT help you to fix any of those weaknesses. To raise your scores, you have to learn the necessary Tactics and put in the proper practice and repetitions. The CAT will show you whether your studies are helping you to improve or not.

Before I can offer you any additional advice, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)? Have you taken any of your CATs more than once?

Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Hi RashmiT,

Taking practice exams really is not necessary until you’ve completed the “learning phase” of your prep. That being said, are you just picking back up with your GMAT studying? When is your actual GMAT and what is your score goal?

You may find it helpful to read this article: How to Score a 700+ on the GMAT — A Mini Guide for Success.

Good luck!

After i was done with my test last year, which didn't go that well, i didnt continue studying/practicing. I want to apply to a few schools hence i need to get done with the test by march. My previous score was 600 and target score is 680-690. I am mainly struggling with verbal RC, CR and time management.

Hi bb, Thank you for the prompt response. You are absolutely right; I was not going through the right screen. For future reference, we have to click on settings button on top right corner to activate the product. Also, the product is valid only for an year post activation of the product.
