Thanks for the feedback.

This isn't a "I'll do anything", rather "doing better on the GMAT has potentially opened more opportunities". At first I was only considering PhD programs, but now that I broke 700, I see potential in both programs.

I spoke to an alum from U Chicago (MBA) and he mentioned that admission committees for the respective programs are mutually exclusive.

That being said, I don't think (as far as I've given thought) that my goals between the programs would diverge. The outcome would hopefully be in the same direction. The MBA would be a more business oriented approach, while the PhD would be more governance/academic.

Thanks again for the expanded feedback.

I'm going to sleep on that some more. I might just stick to a few of MBA programs (Wharton, HBS, Michigan) and then focus the rest on PhD apps, only over lapping on Michigan with both apps (PhD: UT Austin, Chicago, MSU, Michigan, Washington).

Undergrad: Top 10 Public University according to US News, 4.0 GPA to date, Business Administration with focus in Accounting
Research experience: No prior experience.
Teaching experience: Teaching assistant in Math Department. I have TA'd for differential equations and linear algebra.

I applied to over ten PhD programs in accounting, including

Indiana
North Carolina
Southern California
Texas
Washington
