i believe that there is a little mistake. except (e) at least one of other options had to begin with the word "where", because gmac tries to make their questions as tricky as possible. after reading the whole sentence without looking at choices i already knew that there should the word "where" in correct choice.

E seems fishy to me...I think it should be 'possess' than 'possesses'.

Vivek.

Good catch! None of the answer choices seem correct. I've also overlooked this point!!

Here is an example to clarify this point.

Ex-1: Thirty percent of Vivek's money is in stocks.
Money is non-countble noun - So singular verb is in order.

Ex-2: Thirty percent of Vivek's investments are in stocks.
"Investments" is countable plural noun -- Thus, plural verb "are" is required.

Just curious about one thing if we ignore the five options given.
Is where essential in this kind of a sentence? Cant it be stated this way...

Nowhere is mobile communication developed as quickly as it is in
Finland, with nearly 70 percent of its residents possessing wireless phone and various high technology products .

Can't be B
Sorry, I can't see how you metion "they" in the secodn part of the sentence and pass it as correct.
It must be E...
By the way - the plural is "possess" - the singular is possesses...
"people possess"
