Of all the photographs taken of him at his wedding there was one that John and his friends sharply disagreed about. His friends all said that this particular picture did not much resemble him, but John said that on the contrary it was the only photograph that did.

Which one of the following, if true, about the photograph most helps to explain John’s disagreement with his friends?

(A) It, unlike the other photographs of John, showed him in the style of dress he and his friends usually wear rather than the formal clothes he wore at the ceremony.
(B) It was the only photograph taken of John at his wedding for which the photographer had used a flash.
(C) It was a black-and-white photograph, whereas the other photographs that showed John were mostly color photographs.
(D) It was unique in showing John’s face reflected in a mirror, the photographer having taken the photograph over John’s shoulder.
(E) It was one of only a few taken at the wedding that showed no one but John.

As to my knowledge mirrors reflect the same stuff that u have and John knows that he used the mirror for "combing". John knows that mirrors never show him anything different from his true appearance. so D

D is correct. Only John sees himself in mirror.

Interesting question ..made me laugh actually ....I though A B D all are top contenders . But on the test day , I would probably give D . But wait ..isnt a flash will make picture more clear and visible. B? . Whatever!

I didn't get this one. Although D does make a lot of sense now that you put it that way.

I was able to elminate ABC.

A is currently stated as so: It, unlike the other photographs of John, showed him in the style of dress he and his friends usually wear rather than the formal clothes he wore at the ceremony.

If A were stated the opposite way: the picture showed him in the style dress he wore at the ceremony rather than the style dress he wore around his friends, THEN maybe A could be correct.

B and C don't explain why his friends have a different opinion.

I was stuck btwn E and D.

Strange question really. But it has to be D - the only image with which John is familiar but his friends aren't.
