\(\frac{(0.15*495)}{9.97} \approx \frac{0.15*500}{10} = 0.15*50 = 7.5\).

Answer: A.

Multiplying the entire expression by 100/100 we have:

(15 x 495)/997, which is close to (15 x 500)/1000 = 15/2 = 7.5.

Alternate Solution:

Let’s approximate the numerator by re-expressing it as 0.15 x 500, which equals 75. Now let’s round the denominator to 10. Thus, we have an an approximate answer of 75/10 = 7.5.

Answer: A
