On each shift, a bus driver earns x dollars per hour for the first 8 hours worked and 1.5x dollars per hour for each hour over 8 hours. If the driver earns \$475 for a week in which he worked 5 shifts, what is the value of x?

(8x +1.5xz(z is >8)*5 = 475
8x+1.5xz = 95

x(8+1.5z) = 95 thus x = 95 / (8+1.5z)
