Sketch the triangle and make the horizontal line the base.


The length of the base will equal the difference in x-coordinates: 5 - (-4) = 9


The height of the triangle will equal the difference in y-coordinates: (-3) - (-7) = 4


Area = (base)(height)/2
= (9)(4)/2
= 18

Answer: D

Please check image for the formula to use when you are given the co-ordinates of all 3 vertices of a triangle

After plugging in the values, Area = 18

Hence Option D is correct.

because the triangle visually approximates a right 60-30 triangle,
and hypotenuse=9,
try 1/2*4.5*4.5√3=17.54
