A.physics, funded by either

B.physics, funded either by

C.physics, either funded by

D.physics and have been funded either by

E.physics and have been either funded by

1) parallelism in either x or y..
Here y is " by cold war", so x should start with "by".
Only B and D left
2) Modifier or PARALLEL
Funded by ....... ACTS as a Modifier to the first clause, which is wrong..
The second clause should be PARALLEL to first and therefore should be joined by AND

Ans D

Over the past 50 years, most of the development programs in satellite engineering have been made possible by theories in physics, funded by either the man on moon project or by the cold war arms race.

A.physics, funded by either -funded seems to be modifying theories in physics; incorrect parallelism

B.physics, funded either by -funded seems to be modifying theories in physics

C.physics, either funded by -Incorrect parallelism; funded seems to be modifying theories in physics

D.physics and have been funded either by -CORRECT

E.physics and have been either funded by -incorrect parallelism
