"Interview followed same general flow of the others posted. Was with a second-year MBA student (although not same career interests). Lasted around 30 minutes with questions below: 1. Brief intro from interviewer, asked that I do the same 2. Walk me through your resume/experience 3. Why do you want an MBA? 4. Short-term goals 5. Why Owen? 6. What other schools are you applying to? 7. Share a time when you needed to develop a skill that was lacking/needed to improve your performance in a specific area, how did this come up, and what was the end result? 8. Share a time when you led a project or team 9. How will you contribute to the community? What do you expect from your classmates? 10. Describe your experience handling diversity 11. Outside of work/school what do you like to do for fun/what are your hobbies? Interview was very conversational. After I answered most of the questions, she often spoke briefly about how well Vanderbilt does XYZ or how it applied to her experiences as well. Overall the interview went well, although it is incredibly hard to tell where you stand in the process since nearly everyone gets an interview after your application is 100% complete."

"Interview followed the same questions as most of the debriefs posted here. It was with a 2nd year student with a similar career path than me. 1. Walk me through your resume 2. Why MBA? 3. Short-term goal 4. Why Owen? 5. How will you contribute to the community? What do you expect from your classmates? 6. How do you select a B-school? Where else have you applied? 7. Experience handling diversity? 8. A time you failed in a project 9. A time you succeed in a project 10. One weakness and what you are doing to improve it. 11. A fun fact about yourself 5 minutes for questions. It was very conversational, she took a lot of notes. I feel like it was a good interview."

"My interview was conversational and pretty good, was a 25 min Zoom call and the standard questions were asked -> 1. Walk me through resume? 2. Why Owen? Why MSF? 3. Short term / long term goals? 4. How do you select a B-school? 5. Mistake you made while leading team. Then a follow question pertaining to leading a team 6. How will family and colleagues describe you? 7. How will you fit into the environment at VB? 8. Any questions for me? My tips for those being interviewed - 1) Don't be anxious, its going to a conversational interview; so be calm and be enthusiastic but make sure not to ramble on too much 2) Have a look at the usual list of questions asked and have a general idea of what you might say for those (That's exactly what I did and it really helped) 3) Don't sound like you are reciting a pre-prepped answer, keep it light and good flowing 4) For a few people this is one of their most ambitious schools on their list, so its fine whatever happens, you will learn from this experience and will get better! 5) At the end of the day, you know yourself better than anyone so there is no need to stress. You will do great! I hope this helps! Good luck guys! :)"

"I had my interview a current 2nd year student. She is pursuing a marketing concentration and hence given my goals - she was assigned My interview was similar to others - I would call it partially conversational as she took a lot of notes and had a few follow up questions on my answers. But didn't go beyond that on other aspects - 1. Walk me through resume? Then a follow question pertaining to leading a team? 2. Why MBA? 3. Why Owen? 4. Short term / long term goals 5. How do you select a B-school? what other schools have I applied to? 6. How will you contribute to the community? What do you expect from your classmates? 7. How will family and colleagues describe you? 8. Any questions for me? I think it was pretty okay? I am surprised why there were no behavioral questions though."

"The interview was with a second-year student. I got his information over the email three hours before my scheduled time. Before joining Vanderbilt, he was in the domain that I am targetting myself to get into after my MBA. I think that's how the school allocates interviewers. The interview was 30-minute long and was very friendly. He took the first 30 seconds to introduce himself then started asking questions that were mostly on the following lines: 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why MBA? 3. Why Owen? 4. What do you do in your free time? 5. How would you contribute to the community on-campus? 6. Taking one point from my resume, he asked how did I solve the challenges on this particular project? 7. How would your supervisor describe you?"

"I interviewed last night. It was pretty similar to ubranjmf. I was asked to give my 60 second hypothetical "why should we hire you" pitch. I had some other questions as well but nothing out of the ordinary. One question was about something I worked on that had a negative outcome. I was also asked how I managed conflict with colleagues and co-workers. Bottom line, it was pretty much what I expected from an Owen interview - cordial, straightforward and brief (35 minutes or so). Good luck to everybody interviewing."

"I had an online interview with Michael Mandrioli on 18th Feb'20 and it lasted about 25 mins. He was extremely attentive and welcoming and he made the interview feel more like a casual conversation. There were some issues with the interview portal initially, so we moved the interview to Skype. The questions that I was asked were on the lines of: 1. Tell me more about your journey and how you arrived where you are today. 2. Why do you want to do an MBA now? 3. On what parameters did you decide which schools to apply to? And which schools have you applied to? 4. Did you select Owen on these parameters or something more? 5. Which is the one skill that you want to improve while at Owen? What is your plan for it? 6. Tell me about a time when you worked on a project which later failed? How did you turn the tables around? 7. Owen is a diverse class. How will you contribute towards enriching the experience of your peers? 8. Do you have any questions for me? I hope this helps! Good luck guys! :)"

Interview lasted 30 minutes but felt short (could be just me). These are the questions I got asked: 1. Walk me through your resume 2. What was your criteria in shortlisting b schools 3. Why MBA and Why Owen 4. What is one skill you wish to improve through MBA and how will you go about doing that 5. How will you contribute to Owen outside the classroom 6. Experience working in a diverse team 7. One time you were part of a project that failed and why did it fail 8. What other schools did you apply to (Definitely restate your desire to attend Owen because it offers xyz that other schools do not) I am a re-applicant and interviewed last year as well. That time I also got asked about one leadership experience and what I am most proud of. Hope this helps. Good luck to everyone!"
