Good morning all --- what a great start to the week. I just received my Johnson interview invitation!! Almost lost hope on it since my application went under review on 10/2X/2011. I guess whoever still hasn't received your interview please keep your head up. It will probably come very soon!!!

By the way, does anyone think flying to Ithaca actually makes a difference for Cornell? I know many consultants, etc said it doesn't make a difference. But I want other people's two-cents??

I spoke to a Johnson alum recently who emphasized that travelling to campus for the interview definitely makes you look good in the eyes of the adcom. I live in Seattle, WA and am definitely planning on flying out if I eventually get an invite.

If you live in the US, it is strongly encouraged to visit the school for interviews. In fact, not doing so (along with not doing a campus visit earlier) might just count against you. Only for the international applicants, it is considered fine to have an alum interview as not everyone can get a visa in such a short time.

I too received my invite last night. The email only mentions "on-campus" interview within "next 2 weeks". The logistics seem impractical this time of the year. Will call them tomorrow to pitch for an alumnus interview. Not too keen on a phone/Skype interview.

I just wanted to quickly check the status of my app and it says that my application is complete for final review by the selection committee. If they're done reviewing, why can't they just tell me already :?

Maybe they're not finished reviewing your application yet. Based on last year's thread, R1 deadline was on Tues, 10/5. The decision deadline was Mon, 12/20, but the calls started on Thurs, 12/16. The R1 deadline this year was Wed, 10/12, and the decision deadline is Tues, 12/20. I am thinking that the calls will start going out on Thurs, 12/15.

Can someone who had interviewed at Cornell shed some lights on how informal/formal the interview went? 2nd year student or AdCom interviewer? Thanks for sharing!

Is Cornell require official GMAT score before they review application?

No they don't. Check FAQ section for Cornell for answer.

Conditional No. They will process the app with a scanned copy of your score report. So you do in fact have to provide something in order for them to process the app. It just doesn't have to come directly from GMAC. You just upload a scanned score report somewhere in the application where you have an upload button you didn't use (i.e. the places where you can upload transcripts for up to five schools). If accepted, you'll have to provide the official score report sent from GMAC before matriculating.

Good luck to the R2 folks! Please make sure to update your profiles accordingly so that the spreadsheet is as representative of the overall applicant stats as possible.

is r3 (jan) deadline same as r3 deadline (march-april) deadline for other schools... or it is similar to r2 deadline of other schools.. i am planning for r3 deadline but if it is the last deadline then I don't want to hurt my chances..
