If you have the time, do it. But book the slot at the testing center now, as they fill up quickly. Generally you want to be hitting about 720 or so when you apply.

Based on analyzing last year's thread, it looks like invites should come out by close of business today for northeast US residents (Boston, NYC, DC, etc). It looks like other geographies have to wait another few days.

Hi guys,

had a question on the application, if someone could please help.

The essay guidelines mention that the essays should be of within the last 3 years. I have some excellent examples of my earlier jobs that i would like to showcase in one of my essays but the period for that was 2008. My question is that whether the 3 yr rule will apply for someone like me where i have had ~9 yrs work experience and this experience is just from the 4th year?

Try to quote an experience within the last 3 years. Following a school's instructions is generally a good idea :) Search and you'll definitely find one.

I called the adcom before I submitted mine and they insisted on this 3-yr time line. I guess in your case, if it's sth amazing that you really want to write about, I'd say go ahead with it (since ur time line is not that far off) but definitely put sth in the optional essay to explain why you chose to write about sth that happened more than 3 yrs ago.

Looks like the first ones last year came in at 5:40PM EST on Mon, Dec 6 2010... see page 34 of Calling 2011 Sloan Applicants.

I was in a similar situation.
I put the excellent example in the cover letter and stuck to the 3 years in the essays.
I spoke with adcom and they did tell me for cover letter i can go beyond 3 years.

Interesting in and of itself that there were 34 pages on this board by this time last year compared to 8 today. Gmatclubbers turn their back on Sloan? ;)

Last year we had a roll call going in..many ppl were saying i am in and mods asking updates etc etc
This year we have the "Profile" thingy and everyone is using that. So result of not using roll call a lot of posts are gone..

I know!, what's worse is that the preview of the email on my phone only showed the first couple of lines: "Dear (my name), The MIT Sloan MBA Admissions team invites you to..."
