Hi Laman, glad to find people from exUSSR here :)

thank you for stating this thread. I will ask some of my colleagues-moderators to add an automative roll-call list.
I had considered MBA at LBS before I joined an event organized by LBS in Moscow last month. After that I decided to apply to MiF. So I am aplying before the Jan 11th deadline.

Hi and good luck :) roll-call would be great but to do it they need to add MiF to LBS pick-up list, curretnly it assumes MBA only...

Re: 2012 LBS MiF Applicants welcome! [#permalink]
Interesting observation: GMAT below 700 doesn't seem to be a strict prohibiter for an application for MiF in 2012 intake. Initially I thought that there is no chance to get there with anything below 680 but as you can see from our humble statistics if you get to ~650 there is probably not much value in spending more time improving your score vs applying in the earlier rounds...

Yup agree spending time on good essays score over higher gmat, as long as its above 650..

Interview was quite chilled-out. Just spoke about the market, common people in the market, the course, London and basic qns like why not CFA. It was more like a conversation than an interview. Two thursdays after the interview I got the admit email. Still awaiting offer package, portal login and related stuff.

Good luck guys

Hi Venkared! Your interviewer now should send the report to the school and after that the countdown begins. Adcom meets every Thursday so literally you can hear from then at any thursday after your interview report is submitted. It seems that you've applied in R2 as me, so the latest when you should hear about adcom decision is Jan 27. Good luck :)

Can you please tell us about your interview in details, how it was, what kind of questions, etc.

Thank you very much for details, very helpful. Though it depends on the interviewer very much, I'd like to hope that mine would be as chilled out as yours :) Good luck to us all!

Thanks laman for the info.

Interview was good. It lasted for 2 hours. I was asked on each and every aspect of my statement. Also I was asked questions on Global markets, Forex movement, etc. The interviewer was trying to understand how much I know about my work. And questions on why MIF, why LBS were obviously there. Overall it was more like a discussion than trying to knock you down.

What are the chances of making it if someone has gone through the interview process. One negative point in my profile is lack of International experience. How much weight will be given to this?

wow 2 hours is long! as I heard interviews last 1-1.5 hours. Which alumni was interviewing you? I mean a recent one? And obviously he should have a similar background with yours as he was able to check about your work.

As they state in the interview shortlist email, the fact that you were invited for the interview already means that you met their published criteria for GMAT score, WE, etc. so I truly believe that you should not worry about international experience too much. Finally, they assess entire profile and yours seem to be quite strong. Good luck and keep us updated :)

I tried to figure out what % of interviewed people get into LBS finally but unfortunately had not find anything. Feedback from 2010 MiF alumni was 80%, but this is his opinion. For me it seems to make sense, in theory they should get rid of people whose applications were fake in some way, or people made wrong impression. Also they should check how social you are, how well you'll able to match the class... Uhhh.

Also would like to know how were the job prospects for the 2011 batch as my interviewer said that 2010 was a difficult year to get jobs because of economic downturn.

Hello All:

My referee is filling out the reference form and has a few concerns about the rating section. He is not sure if he needs to provide a descriptive response to the questions under the rating section or just provide a numerical rating (on a scale of 1 to 5).

Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

He just need to provide numerical rating under the rating section..the descriptive part is just before that. he needs to fill the descriptive part as per the questions asked.
