Did your app status update?

I got the call Monday, but my app is still at "complete"

I got the email two and a half hours after receiving the call. Once your status changes, it should read:

Quote:
Submission Status: Submitted
Submitted Date: 10/7/2011 xx:xx:xx AM EST
Offer - Congratulations and welcome to The Johnson School. Please click the link below to review your letter.

If your status remains the same by tomorrow, you can probably shoot a quick email to your Admissions Rep.

Just a follow-up:

I emailed my admissions rep and told her my status hadn't changed. She didn't respond yet, but within an hour my status was updated.

Two days after decision deadline and six days after acceptance call I got an email that says that I am not getting any scholarships:

Quote:
Dear Ralex,

I’m sorry to report we are unable to make you a scholarship award offer. The high number of applications received made the selection process rigorous and highly competitive. ... Please consider funding from sources outside of Johnson...

Here I come, loans!

There is a list of core classes on the Johnson website :

https://www2.johnson.cornell.edu/current ... /core.html

There is also an exemption exam available for each one of them. I wonder, since I took similar classes 2 years ago - can I place out of all of them? I looked over the sample tests and it looks like with some studying I can pass them. Should I do that? How many classes should I try to place out of? Do I get to take electives instead of core classes?

Congratulations to all of those who've gotten in! I look forward to seeing you all on campus next year :-)
To those who are undecided, I'm happy to offer my opinion/advice on the merits/demerits of Cornell vs another program. Feel free to reach out and we can set-up a time to talk.

Hey Alex,

Congratulations on your Johnson acceptance! I look forward to meeting you at Destination Johnson in April! The advice that I was given is to try to place out of as many classes as you can to lessen the work load. Some stuff they will automatically exempt you from, like if you passed the Financial part of the CPA, you don't have to take accounting. And other things you just can't place out of. I guess it's up to you based on the amount of time that you are going to dedicate to refreshing. No harm is having one less class right?

Congratulations again!

Any international students here? Does anyone know on the loan options for Cornell (without US Cosigner)

Also has everyone sent in there official transcripts or is it only to be sent once you accept the offer and pay the deposit?

I can share what I know:

The credit union loan that's explained on the school website is not available immediately for international students. Reason:
(a) The loan applications only open April 01 of each year and
(b) The school does not allow international students to quote US student loans on the DoF form. Why? No clue.

According to a reply I received from the financial aid office, you can use multiple "private sponsors" on the DoF form (which gets you the I-20). These "private sponsors" can be US or international.

I'm not sure if "private sponsors" includes bank loans. Still waiting for a cystal clear answer on that. Will post once I hear.
