I see a cause-affect relationship in the argument and hence B

I also think it should be B. But where are these questions form? I have never come across such questions.

E)...someone makes an assumption that the team won because the record shows that it had won in the past. so this would be an conclusion based on an statistical assumption. but then someone says that the team did not win because of its record, but because of its attitude. so this statement would weaken the statistical assumption. statistic vs.motivation.

I guessed B as well.

OA is A.

OE:

An analogical argument draws it conclusion by comparing one thing to another. In doing so it makes the assumption that the two things are the same in all relevant ways.

The statement introduces a difference between the two groups, which attacks the assumption that the two things are the same.
