Hello Everyone!

I interviewed with a recent alum on Monday. Overall, I think the interview was pretty straightforward. I was asked a couple of trick questions but I thought those questions were fair. The interview started with a general into and that was followed by why MiF vs. MBA, why LBS, career golas, electives I would like to pursue at LBS, etc. I also asked a lot of questions about the school and the programme. My suggestion for all future applicants would be to have a clear idea of what you want to get out of the programme and how you would go about achieving that. Make sure you do your homework on the school and the programme.

Thank you all for sharing your interview experiences on this forum. I am really hoping for a positive outcome.

Best of luck!

Thank you very much for sharing your experience :) can you please tell us a bit more about trick questions?

So now we have two people to keep fingers crossed for this Thursday. As I know from my experience, BIG meeting is finished at 12.00 GMT after then you should expect either a call or email. So find something to keep you busy till 12.00 GMT this thursday and then start pressing send/receive and hypnotizing your phone. You're almost done people, fingers crossed!

In MiF application there is a specific question "why MiF not MBA" and there you'll need to be very careful with the reply. I think the best way to do it is to send your CV for evaluation for Peter Johnson (pjohnson@london.edu), MiF admissions committee strongly recommends to use this service before you apply. You can explicitly describe your situation and seek for advice. If Peter recommends you to apply you can go forward, if not - here is no point in application. You can read about the profile evaluation service here: https://www.london.edu/programmes/mif/whoisthemastersinfinancedesignedfor.html

good luck!

Sorry for the tardy response. Nothing to stress about. Just be up to date on current issues about the economy and the financial world. Be prepared to express your thoughts on current events.

Good luck to all the applicants who are interviewing!

I finally received my access to school's portal. Sharing info which interested me most of all: there are 61 admitted people currently for MIFFT2013 (this is how we're called).

Hey Guys,

Can any of the recent admits share info on financing options for the program. I understand that HSBC loan which didnt require any co signor is no longer available. Are there any financing options available through LBS which dont require a co signor.

Hi All.
It's been interesting reading everyone's experience. I've applied to the MiF FT program in round 4 and received my interview invitation email this morning. My stats are:

36
4 years asset management experience + 2 in corp finance and strategy (the rest in consulting)
GMAT 720 (41/48/6.0)

I'll review some of the posted tips on the interview. Wish me luck :)

Good luck, rwkTX :)

Regarding financing option, I'm sad to say that there are still no news regarding HSBC. And there are basicly no other financing options available for non UK/EU residents... Neither through LBS nor through any other channels. I honestly do not have any idea how am I gonna finance my studies...

Thanks, Laman. My interviewer and I haven't met yet... next Monday (19 March) is the big day.

Has LBS given you any estimates for the fully-loaded cost you should expect (e.g., including rent, other living expenses, fees beyond tuition)?

Hopefully there will be some positive news on the HSBC loans soon. I'm expecting to have to pay my own way though, assuming I'm accepted.

Good luck
